Inspired by true events, *The President’s Abduction* takes the viewer into the heart of the absurd events of 1930. During a night of heavy drinking, a group of ambitious officers decides to kidnap Finland’s first president—thealready retiredK. J. Ståhlberg. The headstrong First Lady,Ester Ståhlberg, refuses to leave her husband’s side even in this dire situation, instead insisting on joining the kidnappers in the back seat of the car. Thus begins an incredible journey through a turbulent Finland, where rumors and history intertwine—and to this day, it remains unclear what was fact and what was fiction in the president’s abduction.
